Milan, July 21, 2026 – The risk factors threatening the operations of small and medium-sized enterprises are on the rise and becoming increasingly complex. To address the risks associated with cyberattacks, climate change, and production disruptions caused by the geopolitical situation, it is essential to work with consultants whose expertise is always up to date and who are capable of recommending the best strategies to minimize the impact.
Insurance intermediaries are expected to take on a more strategic and advisory role, which is why the third edition of the Executive Course “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: From Insurance Intermediary to Risk Advisor” is being launched. The course is sponsored by Cetif Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, organized in collaboration with Chubb, and held under the patronage of ACB, AIBA, ANRA, and Bene Assicurazioni.
The course will begin on September 25, 2026, and will alternate between in-person sessions at theCattolica Università Milan campusCattolica online sessions. The goal is to guide market professionals through a paradigm shift: from offering insurance products to providing strategic consulting on business risks.
It is designed for insurance intermediaries, brokers, junior risk managers, industry professionals, and recent graduates interested in developing specialized skills; the program includes 180 hours of training, combining in-person and online classes, with a strongly practice-oriented approach.
Through modules focused on risk assessment, risk management, and the main insurance solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), participants will gain practical tools to identify, assess, and manage business risks, thereby developing the consulting skills that are increasingly in demand in the market.
The program’s unique value lies in its integration of academic expertise, insights from the business world, real-world case studies, and hands-on exercises, made possible by the contributions of university professors, managers, brokers, risk managers, and professionals from the insurance industry.
"The current geopolitical and technological landscape is forcing companies to strengthen their risk culture," says Chiara Frigerio, Professor of Business OrganizationUniversità Cattolica Università del Sacro Cuore Secretary General of Cetif. "The role of the intermediary is evolving into that of a true consultant capable of advising companies on how to protect themselves against increasingly complex risks linked to uncontrollable situations. The program we have developed together with our partners was created precisely with this goal in mind: to develop skills that enable us to generate value for the client, helping to reduce the protection gap and strengthen the resilience of the productive sector."
"Today, SMEs are increasingly complex organizations that must deal with ever-changing risks," says Orazio Rossi, Country President of Chubb in Italy. “The market demands highly qualified intermediaries who are capable of understanding their clients’ businesses and supporting them with expert advice. This program represents a concrete opportunity to develop these skills and strengthen the role of the intermediary as a strategic partner to businesses.”
Classes will be held from September 25, 2026, to July 24, 2027, alternating between in-person sessions atUniversità Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Milan and online instruction (full-time on Fridays and part-time on Saturdays).
Registration is open until September 21, 2026.
