The course aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of the discipline of
governance and control of insurance products (POG) in the broader context of
the rules of governance and conduct applicable to insurance companies and intermediaries
. The 2026 edition introduces a specific in-depth study dedicated
to the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the design, monitoring
and distribution of insurance products, analyzing the legal,
regulatory and operational challenges arising from the growing use of algorithms and automated tools
. The training course systematically addresses the implications
of AI for compliance with the principles of fairness, transparency, and value for money, with
particular attention to the role of governance controls and the responsibility
of the corporate functions involved.

Formative Objectives.
  • Examine the origins, structure, and purpose of Product Oversight and Governance (POG) regulations in the context of sound and prudent management of insurance companies.
  • Analyze the expectations of Italian and European supervisory authorities regarding the implementation and operation of the POG.
  • Explore the impact of artificial intelligence on the design and monitoring of insurance products, with reference to European legislation on the AI Act, IDD regulations, and principles of conduct based on customer interests.
  • Identify best practices and internal control tools to ensure that the use of AI in product governance and distribution processes complies with the requirements of proportionality, ethics, and accountability.
