Agrifood Sandbox

Agriculture, by its very nature, is an open-air industry. The relationship that links this industry to weather phenomena is unique. In fact, the agrifood sector is one of the production segments most exposed to impacts from climate variability and change. In this context, Cetif Advisory has promoted Agrifood Sandbox, an experimental path conducted with the aim of bringing strong innovation to the Italian agricultural risk insurance market.

Mission and Goals

The first phase of Sandbox which included ANIA, Asnacodi Italia, Cattolica Assicurazioni, Coldiretti, Confagricoltura, CoorDifesa, Ismea, IVASS and Reale Mutua Assicurazioni.

The purpose of Sandbox is to develop and test parametric insurance guarantees for the Agrifood market through the definition of a fully digital underwriting and policy lifecycle management process.

Cattolica Assicurazioni and Reale Mutua Assicurazioni are the first insurance companies that have concretely tested with their end customers (farms) parametric solutions to guarantee the risk related to seasonal phytopathologies (Downy mildew, Powdery mildew, Gray mold, Black rot) for the wine grape supply chain.
