Diversity in corporate workforces, as in the larger society and among consumers, is now a fact of life: the inescapable challenge for any business is to equip itself adequately to make it a strength of its business and an opportunity for its people. Starting from an analysis of the multiple dimensions of diversity present in organizations (e.g., gender, age, ethnic-national origin, educational background), the course aims to offer a set of basic coordinates for consciously working-in people management but also at all organizational levels-on this condition, from the perspective of both competitive management and sustainability and social responsibility. Particular space will be devoted to the main operational issues involved in building an inclusive work environment, finally paying attention to the role of cross-cultural management in international business. The mode of conduct of the course includes theoretical presentations, classroom discussions and exercises.
The course is for anyone who wants to learn how to value diversity in its many perspectives in order to face challenges more effectively and seize new opportunities.
